"Under Watchful Eyes" oil on canvas - 6"x 6 "

Art Museum Series

I happened to catch this couple in an intimate moment at the art museum. I don't often see kissing at the museum. It reminded me of Gustav Klimt and his famous painting -"The Kiss". I was not the only one to view this affection."

At one end of a long hallway at the art museum were two beautiful
pieces painted at Giverny, France. It was fascinating to sit at
the far end of the hallway and watch the different ways that
people stood while viewing them.

It was a lunch time visit at the museum when I sketched this mother with her
son. I thought it was really wonderful that she had him there to experience
great art. What also interested me was the fact that he seemed to be explaining
the work to her.

I thought this was a fun experience at the Art Museum. I was sitting in the
next room sketching this woman who was doing sketches of the paintings. I
imagine she was a student of the nearby art college.

"Abstract Man"
Oil on canvas - 6"x 8"
Art Museum Series

I often go to the Art Museum. I find it inspiring to see some of the old
masters work and of course there are also the new exhibits. I can sit and
sketch people as they ponder what is before them. This man stood for a very
long time in front of this fabulous piece...to me he almost became part of
the painting.
