" I happened to buy a new jar of Dill pickles the other day and
when I got it out to have one with my burger, I thought they looked
so yummy that I decided to do a painting. Who doesn't like a good
dill pickle? I remember when my grandma made her own."

"This was a fun piece to do with its bright colors and shiny metal.
I used to collect wind-ups and the metal ones were always my favorites.
This one has a lot of action. The tail moves back & forward, the
ears go up & down and the feet move as the ball rolls forward."

"Today I decided on an old electrical insulator. I found this
in the basement of my old studio building that was over 100
years old. I am sure it must have come from one of the old
poles on the street. I love how the light reflects through
the old blue glass and show its imperfections."

"This Bell Pepper looked so bright and cheerful sitting
in my kitchen that I had to paint it. After it was
finished I thought it reminded me of the my time spent
in Greece. It must be the color scheme."

"This rare old pin cushion belongs to a friend of mine
who is a scottie dog collector. I thought this was an
unusual item and had to do a painting of it. I
liked the difference of the textures; the satin cushion,
stitching around the edges and the ceramic dogs."

"Just a little bird nest that I found. It still had a few bits of soft
down left by its previous residents.
These fascinate me so much, all the work that goes into them, that I
decided to make this the cover of one of my books -
"Art Journal of Daily Life - Volume One."

"This was my grandmas white milk glass covered dish. She had
a big one and this small one. I have no idea what you are suppose
to put in them, but I think they are cool. This was an interesting
painting to do as it was a study in whites."

"This is a little old Maytag Oil Can, made in Newton, Iowa that I
found in my mom and dads old shed a few years ago. I am sure dad
never thought of it as an antique collectible, it was just one of
his old oil cans that he knew he would use for something, someday.
He would of thought it funny that I would do a painting of it."

"There was a great buy on Strawberries at the grocery the other day.
I just had to have some for my breakfast cereal. It's funny how we
look at these daily items and never really look. When I was painting
them I began to realize how complicated they are with their little
indentions and tiny seeds."
