This gallery is for paintings of people on the streets, in cafes, libraries, bookstores, shopping at markets and in stores. I am finding this is becoming one of my most favorite galleries. Mostly this is because I go out to different areas and many of my favorite places of the city where I take photos and do my sketches for paintings. I really enjoy observing and trying to capture the little moments in our lives.

Art Museum Collectible Series - click on paintings
This gallery is a series of paintings based on my visits to Art Museums. I find it fascinating to see how people view art. The result is a painting of people viewing paintings. Maybe they are pointing out what they see, sharing a moment with a friend or family member, studying the art or just walking by. Sometimes there are moments that the people almost mirror or become a part of the art. My new art book, "Artful Moments" has 50 of these paintings in it. Appletree Hollow Collectible Series
In this gallery you will find a series of paintings of the surreal,magic fantasy of Appletree Hollow. I began these works to reflect a lot of my heritage and love of the hills of southern Ohio. They are a combination of my love of animals and imagining how they would appear as people. I use a touch of real historical information and expand it with a bit of imagination. Each painting, similar to old style photos from the 1800's - 1920's, has a brief description of who they were and what they did. My hope is to produce a book that would be a lot like an old diary or album about the residents of Appletree Hollow.

Bicycle / Shadow Collectible Series
This gallery of paintings are a series of bicycles, old and new. I have always had a fascination for shadows. I find it interesting to look at the objects we collect by the shadows that they produce. Bicycles, with all their spokes, wheels, handlebars and pedals, often create complex shadows with delicate and interesting shapes and spaces. I usually design these paintings to allow the shadows to reveal the object.

Still Life
This gallery features a wide variety of realistic still life paintings. I love old antique objects and have collected quite a few interesting wind-up toys and the metal ones are really fun to paint. Some of the objects in this group are sentimental family heirlooms; glass bottles and antique dolls. Other still life in this group are food items such as vegetables and fruit. Many of these paintings are in my "Art Journal of Daily Life - Volume One" book now available. A link is at the bottom of this page.

Window Shopping Collectible Series
In this gallery you will see a new series of store window displays. Store windows often show reflections of the world outside the store. There may be people on the street, buildings or vehicles passing by. I think that many of us like to window shop, at least I know that I do, and when we are looking into that window we are usually viewing the merchandise and trying to avoid the glare of the sun or other distractions, right? So,in this series I am using the clouds, light and reflections to become elements of the final design and allow the viewer to see these windows in a different way. You will find these paintings loaded with manikins of all kinds...they are fun, funky, quirky, sexy and colorful.

Animal Art
This is the gallery for a variety of realistic animal paintings. I have a deep love and affection for all animals. They are often our best friends and companions. I have been blessed with having a variety of big and little four legged people in my life and experienced many others. I try to capture their true essence and for me it is often the eyes that I focus on, that little window into their personality. You will notice that I love to get up close and personal in many of the portraits.

Landscape and Architecture
Here is the gallery for various landscapes of the southern Ohio countryside and other places around the globe. Abandoned buildings are an attraction, as well as city and small town structures. I seem to zoom in on a particular area of a building rather than painting a complete building. It is usually the smaller things that attracts me, either for light, shapes, colors or shadows.

Antique Teddy Bear Portraits
If you love old teddy bears, this is the gallery for you. A series of antique teddy bear paintings that are either in my collection or happily reside in other homes. I have never been very interested in new teddy bears. It is the old battered and well loved ones that get my attention. No matter how many old teddy bears I have seen, everyone of them seems to have it's own unique and well loved personality.

I have this gallery for some of my larger works. These are paintings that are more developed that the smaller pieces. More time is spent on these larger works to develop detail,technique and style.

Commissions
This gallery holds some of the commissions I have completed for clients. Some of these paintings are created from a previous painting that sold and another client asked to have another similar one created for them. Occasionally they request a larger size, or changed in some way. There are also clients that are looking for a new painting from one of my series created just for them.
