I noticed this guard at the museum in a familiar pose

time and speak a thousand words.

A tribute to an old icon. The Newport music hall is one of the
oldest places still standing in our renovated campus district.
I found this old guy just waiting........for what? I am not sure.

Another larger painting today. Seems like there are
a lot of things to think about these days. I find a
lot of those thought provoking moments at the art museum.

It's Not ALL Black & White - What is art?

"It's Not ALL Black & White"
oil on canvas - 6"x 8"

A big universal question that has been thrown around,
theorized about and created many debates in the art world is:
"What is art?" Everyone seems to have an opinion on the topic.
I find myself asking this question when I come across certain
works of "art". As this painting shows........I wonder what does
an all white painting or all black painting REALLY say?
Hmmmmmmmmmmm?

Mother and daughter viewing a Kandinsky painting.
This painting made me think of clocks and time, hence the title.
I know that I have many images that are captured in my mind
of quiet moments that were spent with my mother.
Those moments in time are very special.

Wassily Kandinsky Biography - 1866-1944-(Russian born Wassily Kandinsky is considered as the inventor and theorist of abstract painting in the 20th century. In 1910 Wassily Kandisnky had seen an Islamic art exhibition in Munich - a highly decorative art style that does not allow to show images of human beings. The same year Kandinsky created his first abstract painting.

I had a lot of fun doing this one; doing an "action" painting like Pollock, only in a very small scale.

Paul Jackson Pollock (January 28, 1912 – August 11, 1956) was an influential American painter and a major force in the abstract expressionist movement.

"Electrifying Conductor"

Weird Family Series

We all have a few "Skeletons" in the closet. Well, mine are not really skeletons but they are certainly in the strange and weird category.
This is Alfred Dobbins (often known as AC-DC). Like Betty Bunny, he comes around at this time of the year and he is well known for his eerie sounds and
haunting music created by his electric personality.

AC-DC is mixed media. Cloth over structure, Aves apoxey head and arms. He moves around on wheels supported by clothes pins. Colored wire hair and a baton with electrical connector. Wire mesh goatee.
