Catch a Falling Star - Sculpture

"Catch a Falling Star"
fine art sculpture
approx.10" high

One-of-a-kind Fine Art Sculpture
This is "Moonbeam" and it is titled : Catch a Falling Star
She has her special net and of course a star in her pocket.
I hope you catch a few this year!

I gave myself a special gift for the New Year ~
time to spend on my sculptures! I have not worked on them
for at least a year, due to the fact that I am always painting~
but I decided that they give me so much joy to create that I
"have to" schedule time to work on them. They are that special
thing that helps preserve my little bit of sanity. :)

Would you like a painting or sculpture? I do all sizes of commissions. If you have an idea you would like to see, don't hesitate to ask!

Puffaloon Lake

"Puffaloon Lake"
oil on canvas - 8"x10"
Dreamscape Series

I thought I would start this week with a trip to
Puffaloon Lake for a little summer fun.
Since the sixities, I have created flat collage work that I have
called "Dreamscapes". I always thought they were studies
for future paintings and I used them to practice color, design and
to keep my brain open for new concepts.
All these years have gone by and I never did them into paintings.
Lately, I have been thinking about them and had this little vision
of Puffaloon Lake pop into my head....

Hope you enjoy it!

Pierre-Auguste Renoir (Feb.25, 1841 - Dec.3, 1919)
He was a French artist who was a leading painter in the
development of the Impressionist style. As a celebrator
of beauty, and especially feminine senuality, it has been
said that "Renoir is the final representative of a tradition
which runs directly from Rubens to Watteau.
