"Walley the bog man"
approx. 7.5 inches high - 11 inches with base
Isle of Appleshire Series
This was in the Summer 2008 issue of Art Doll Quarterly magazine with article of "The World of Appleshire".
Walley is the ferryman at Biggles Bog. Although he is very shy, he is a hardworking, stubborn and brave. He has lasted longer than anyone else that has traveled the bog. Maybe it is because he has a very strong, solid body but I am sure it helps that he has a heavy layer of protective scales that cover his back and his webbed feet make him an excellent swimmer. Traveling the bog can be a dangerous way of life as there are many unsavory characters that live in and around it but Walley was born at Biggles Bog. He knows every detail about the bog, all the hiding places and best the routes to cross. As you can see he has a large set of nostrils which have proved to be a great asset allowing him to smell danger before it arrives. If you need to ferry across the bog, you can usually find him, when he is hungry, at the crossroads sign of "Biggles Bog and Earthgate" but don't forget....you MUST pay him with fresh fish!
Walley is made of Aves Apoxie, glass eyes, pine cone seed scales, rubber plant hair and is carrying a leather pouch to hold his fish. There are three removable fish in his pouch. The landscape has a crossroads sign(driftwood, strange growing plants and he is standing in the mud at the edge of the bog (acrylic water area).Wallet as well as other parts of this set come apart for shipping.
